Graduation Requirements

• Successful completion of 60.00 credits.
• At least 50% (30.00 credits) of all coursework must be completed at 91¾ÞÈé.
• A minimum of 30.00 Upper Level (3000-4000) credits is required.
• A minimum program GPA of 2.00 is required.
• Up to 50% (30.00 credits) of coursework used towards a previously received credential can be used to meet graduation requirements (see the Credentials Awarded Policy and see note 5).
• Time limit to complete the program graduation requirements: seven (7) years. Any courses completed outside of that time limit will not be usable. Students may seek the permission of the Department/Program to complete a credential outside the approved time limits.

Additional Graduation Requirements with Co-operative Education Option

• Successful completion of 9.00 additional credits through Co-operative Education I (COOP 1100).
• Students completing the Co-operative Education option may graduate with 69.00 credits.
• At least 50% (34.50 credits) of all coursework must be completed at 91¾ÞÈé.

Notes:

1) The courses, above, have been listed in the recommended order for students to take them. To complete the program efficiently, students need to:

• Make note of courses that are not offered every term to adjust their plans accordingly,
• Take all pre-requisites prior to attempting to register for a given course, and
• Satisfy the pre-requisites that require grades higher than C-.

2) COBA 4885 and COBA 4886 (Experiential Learning and Internship I and II) provide the opportunity for students to gain unpaid work experience and course credit.

3) Students who would like to find out more about Co-Op or internship should send an email to the careercentre@douglascollege.ca at the start of their program.

4) The Co-Op work term is a minimum of 420 hours of work and must be taken through 91¾ÞÈé's Co-Op program. The timing of the work terms is restricted to the following:

• Can be undertaken only after completion of a minimum of two semesters, 18 credits.
• Cannot be taken in the last semester of the program.

5) If substitute courses are required, students are responsible for:

• Seeking approval prior to registering for any course substitutions;
• Choosing courses that fulfill all graduation requirements; and
• Completing pre-requisites for the substitute courses (i.e., not expect pre-requisite overrides).

Substitute courses should be 3.00 credits. The following substitute course options are recommended:

• Any course from CBA (i.e., BUSN, ACCT, BLAW, COBA, CSIS, ECON, FINC, HOSP, or MARK);
• From outside CBA, the courses that are listed in the table below; or
• A similar course, as approved by the Program Coordinator.
